I almost burst out laughing when I saw this photo.
Deer in headlights... I never fully appreciated that phrase until I saw this photo of the See Bass staring straight back at me.

Two years after I first came to know about Corduroy and Finch (779 Bukit Timah road), I still adore this joint.

By some standards, I'm sure this venue wouldn't count as chichi.
With its stark white (and you do know how I adore the colour white) facade facing Bukit Timah road, its ceiling-high wine stacks, lavishly laid-out desserts refrigerator, somewhat offbeat selection of seasoning oils, and snug sofas in the mezzanine floor... I probably think more quaint-ishly of it myself.
And for some inexplicable reason, I've still not grown tired of the Apple Crumble that they make there. Sadly too, inflation's jacked up the price of this indulgence from 9 to 13 quid (before taxes).
I must remember to snap some pictures of the Crumble the next time I visit (rather than of their furniture and fittings!).
